RYANAIR – NEW, CHEAP CONNECTION TO MONTENEGRO

Montenegrin government announced a deal with low cost airline company Ryanair to start flights to and from Montenegro in June 2012.

According to the deal, which is valid for 2012 to 2015 period, Ryanair will fly to Montenegro from March to October, and the number of flights will be increasing per year. Continue reading

How to come to Montenegro?

Arrival by airplane

If you want to come to Montenegro by plane, there are two international airports: in Podgorica – in the middle of the country and in Tivat – on the coast.

The National Company Montenegro Airlines (www.montenegro-airlines.com) has got direct airlines from Ljubljana, Budapest, Frankfurt, Zurich, Rome, Istanbul and Belgrade.

During the summer season there are many charter flights to Tivat airport.

CROATIA AIRLINES

One of the fastest and the cheapest  ways to get Montenegro is from Cilipi Airport near town of Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik airport is very well connected with all the European cities and has regular charter and low cost arrivals/departures.

Arrival by ferry:

If you want to come by ferry, you can come  from Bari, or Ancona (the ports of Italy) to Bar or Kotor (the ports of Montenegro) , or you can choose nearby port of Dubrovnik.

Arrival by car or bus:

The whole length of the roads in Montenegro is 5.174km. Two most important road directions in Montenegro are the Adriatic main road from Igalo to Ulcinj and the main road direction Petrovac (the seaside town) – Podgorica – Kolasin – Bijelo Polje – the border of Serbia. This second direction connects the north and the south of Montenegro.

There are regular bus lines from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia to Montenegro.

Montenegro- where is it?

Montenegro or  Crna Gora, meaning black mountain, is a country located in Southeastern Europe. It has a coast on the Adriatic Sea to  the south-west and is bordered by Croatia to the west,  Bosnia and Herzegovina to the northwest, Serbia  to the northeast,  and Albania  to the southeast. Its capital and the largest city is Podgorica , while  Cetinje is well known  as the Prijestonica (Пријестоница), meaning the former Royal Capital City.
